How to Tell if You Have Storm Damage

You know how destructive spring storms can be if you have lived in Kansas City for a while. In fact, we can almost guarantee that you know what it feels like to emerge from your basement after a storm to scan your home and property for obvious signs of damage.

But how can you really tell whether or not you have storm damage from hail or strong winds?

Some storm damage is evident. For example, if your home has missing shingles (or shingles are scattered on the ground), you know you have roof damage. But while standing on the ground in front of your home, you may not be able to see the dented shingles or pings on your vents and flashing.

You will, of course, be able to see shattered windows in your home, but would you notice small cracks or holes around the frame?

Unfortunately, some homeowners may only understand the extent of the storm’s damage when their area has another intense rainstorm. Then, they will notice the leaks coming through the ceiling and the water coming in through windows and doors.

After experiencing a strong storm, you have two options. You can wait and see if you have damage by constantly checking for leaks, or you can call in roofing experts who will carefully examine your roof.

At Integrity Roofing, Siding, Gutters, and Windows we are committed to homeowners of Kansas City. Give us a call the next time you need to determine whether or not you have storm damage to your home.
