Underlayment - The First Important Component


New Fiberglas™ Reinforced Felt Underlayment provides an extra layer of protection beneath the shingles to help prevent wind-driven rain from reaching the roof deck. It's an essential part of a complete Owens Corning Roofing System.

Ice and Water Barrier Protection - Say NO to Moisture
                                                                                                                                                                                           
Your roofing system must include protection from wind-driven rain. This is accomplished by installing Ice & Water Barrier directly beneath the shingles.  WeatherLock® Self-Sealing Ice & Water Barrier Products are used on areas of the roof where water has a tendency to collect or flow. These areas include valleys, vents, chimneys and skylights. It’s important to prevent water collection on a roof because that can cause an ice dam to form. This ridge of ice causes water to back up and sit on a roof, instead of properly draining off. This water can work its way under the roof covering and flow into the attic—and cause water damage to a home’s interior.

Starter Shingle - Helps Hold it All Down



Starter Strip Shingles eliminate the need for cutting shingle tabs to create a starter row.  Once apart, the Starter Strip shingles should be aligned next to one another with the sealant toward the eave.

Their unique folded construction provides the ultimate in dimension and style to the hip and ridge, complementing the overall style of the roof, and your home.  High Style® hip and ridge shingles are available in most colors and meet the same high quality standards as our other shingle products. They are also prefolded for more efficient application. They are typically used with Owens Corning laminated shingles, but they may also be used with our three-tab shingles.
